Lānaʻi Veterinary Care Opens

April 2023 — Lānaʻi Veterinary Care welcomed its first pet patients on April 10. The first day of appointments booked out within hours of the service launching its website.

The mobile, pop-up clinic plans to visit Lānaʻi at least twice a month and will operate from the Lānaʻi Cat Sanctuary’s mobile veterinary clinic at the Dole Administration Building parking lot.

Pet parents can schedule appointments and view the online pet pharmacy and pet supply shop as part of the program. If there are no more available appointments, pet patients can sign up on our waitlist. Walk-ins are accommodated as time permits.

Services offered include: annual health exams, sick/injured care, minor surgery, free spay/neuter surgery, pet travel health certificates, vaccines, bloodwork and disease screening, heartworm, flea and tick preventative and euthanasia. Nail trims are offered during the last hour of every clinic.

Meet Our Team:

  • An expert team of veterinarians is led by head of animal services, Dr. Aleisha Swartz of Oʻahu, former president of the Hawaii Veterinary Medical Association. She is a shelter medicine specialist who works to bring services to rural communities across the nation and the world.

  • Dr. Claire Conrath joins the team and specializes in high-quality, high-volume spay/neuter surgery.

Lānaʻi Veterinary Care opens as a new community health clinic for all animals as part of the nonprofit Lānaʻi Cat Sanctuary.
